Maketu Coastguard have new boat

The Maketu Coastguard unit has taken delivery of their new Robson 11m vessel. Alloy Cats Ltd received a basic hull and cabin shell to modify and completed the fit out, painting and engine installations.

The vessel is powered by twin 440hp Yanmar diesels through Hamilton jets, and has a top speed of around 38 knots. It is berthed on the Kaituna River where access through the Kaituna Cut gives a quick response time to the environs of Motiti Island, Town Point and beyond.
