New Coastguard vessel for Waihi Beach launched

This 9.5m Naiad designed RHIB rescue boat was delivered to the Waihi Beach Coastguard in December. Gallagher Rescue, as the boat is named, was a 7 month project for Alloy Cats Ltd.

It is powered by twin 250hp Yamaha 4 stroke outboards and is capable of speeds in excess of 45 knots. The outboards are mounted on jack plates to raise the engines vertically during shallow water operations.

Electronics are by Raymarine and include two large display screens, radar, tracking and extensive night searching gear.
